Applying our faith in today’s world

In today’s message, Pastor Kelvin Jones helps us to use our faith to navigate the troubling days we are going through as a country. Drawing from Psalm 9 as well as other familiar texts, Rev. Jones encourages us to begin by focusing our thoughts on God to find perspective. Then we can reach out in love to others who are not like ourselves, listening and learning and being better prepared to understand one another. As a result we will be ready to act justly as the famous verse from Micah encourages us to do.

Next week our conference provides service

This next Sunday, June 14, our service content will be provided by our Annual Conference office. We believe that our loyal constituents and fans will be able to access Copper Hill service in the same ways as usual. And our crew is planning to have a Zoom greeting time following as usual as well. Bishop Bickerton, noting that the pastors were originally scheduled to be away at conference on June 14, mandated that pastors have that day off. Pastor Kelvin and JoAnne will return to lead service via Zoom on June 21.

Advance date for communion

In accordance with the permission granted by Bishop Thomas Bickerton, Pastor Kelvin is planning to include online communion in the service on June 28th. So please take steps to have your own grape juice and bread available so you can participate at home on that day.
