Powerful Living series concludes with an emphasis upon prayer
Today Pastor Kelvin focused our thoughts upon a key verse in the letter of James, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16). He reminded us that this is not just a promise for super-saints but is for every Christian whose sins are forgiven and who are seeking to do the good works planned in advance for them to do. Our prayers are powerful because they open the way for the fulfillment of God’s purposes and because they have power to defeat the enemy even as the prayers of Elijah did on Mt. Carmel. Pastor Jones reminded us repeatedly that “Powerful living requires powerful praying.”
