Spiritual energy for our needs

Today we discovered in Paul’s writings from prison how he could be joyful and filled with spiritual energy even during difficult times. Pastor Kelvin reminded us that Paul kept his focus on God’s resources rather than his circumstances. What a great hint for us as well. JoAnne compared a full pitcher of watcher to a small half-empty glass to help us think about God’s over-the-top supply for our needs. Paul kept reminding himself that God gives abundant grace, more than sufficient for our times of need. It was the perfect message to precede our third online communion sacrament.

Small steps toward reopening

Copper Hill Church continues to take small steps toward reopening. Bishop Bickerton promulgated a list of necessary preparations to help churches prepare to reopen safely and be ready to continue the online ministries they have begun during COVID-19. Under Pastor Kelvin’s leadership, the COVID-19 Planning Group, the finance committee, and trustee chair, Ron Prevost, have taken several small steps to help our church get ready. A few weeks ago our church received a thorough professional cleaning as required by the guidelines. This past week, Cox cable for internet was installed at church to enable continued streaming of services after church reopens. This coming week, God willing, we will receive helpful supplies from NYAC to help us be more prepared as well. We will keep you informed when more detailed plans are made.
